Melody's Echo Chamber is the solo project of Paris-based songwriter and multi-instrumentalist Melody Prochet. The first MEC album, produced by Tame Impala's Kevin Parker, was released in 2012 to critical acclaim for its lush psychedelia and adventurous spirit by Les Inrocks, Vogue, Rolling Stone, and Pitchfork. Prochet cited influences as diverse as Erik Satie, Can, and Stereolab for the record's sound. MEC toured extensively in support of the album in 2012-13, with high-profile festival slots at Montreux Jazz Festival, Primavera Sound, and Glastonbury. In October of 2014, Prochet released new single "Shirim" on her own label Rayon Vert. NME praised the song for being "celestial and authoritative, but also wonderfully unhinged," and NPR called the track "sweet, psychedelic, and magical." The second album by Melody's Echo Chamber will be released in the spring of 2015.
