Ever dream of playing bingo with Grimes or enjoying an early morning bloody mary with Warpaint? This December, S.S. Coachella sets sail December 16-19 to the Bahamas and December 19-23 to Jamaica, taking the Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival experience to the high seas.
Windish Music Licensing and Hidden Track Music Forge Sync Partnership
The Windish Agency is happy to announce Windish Music Licensing's long-term partnership with LA-based sync experts Hidden Track Music. Led by Justin Bumper Reeve, the boutique music placement and licensing company represents labels, publishers, songwriters and artists, and services to film, television, advertising and video games.
Last Splash turns 20, the Breeders reunite for shows in the US and Europe
Kim Deal, Kelley Deal, Josephine Wiggs, and Jim Macpherson played their first show together on Friday June 19, 1992, in a snooker hall behind Warrington Rugby Club in the north of England, near Manchester. Two days later they supported Nirvana in Dublin and Belfast, and then played at Glastonbury. Back in the US, after playing 27 sold-out shows that fall, they made their way to San Francisco to record Last Splash.
2012 GRAMMY Nominations
Last night in Nashville, the GRAMMY countdown began as musicians and their teams gathered for The GRAMMY Nominations Concert Live to reveal selections for the 2012 awards. The Windish Agency's artists had an undeniable presence, bringing in a total of ten nominations throughout different categories, including a nod to Gotye for the esteemed "Record of the Year" award.

Each year, artists from all mediums leave their studios and head to Miami, FL to witness art and music fusion, better known as Art Basel. Since its inception in 2002, the gathering has proven to be a unique and ever-popular experience, fueled by the creativity of renowned creatives and international gallerists.
The Windish Agency welcomes new agent Evan Hancock
The Windish Agency is happy to announce the addition of Evan Hancock to our growing team. Evan joins us from Surefire Agency and brings with him impressive experience in electronic music. Getting an early start at age 18 in South Carolina, Evan promoted for venues like The Music Farm, Pour House and other clubs. From there, he moved to Portland where he served as a partner and staple in the promotions, touring and management program at Abstract Earth Project (AEP). Evan then joined Surefire Agency and was a great asset for more than three years to the reputable agency.
ARIA Awards Winners: Gotye & The Jezabels
Last night, the Australian music community gathered at the Syndey Entertainment Centre for their highly-anticipated ARIA Awards. The Windish Agency had a presence all the way "down under" with several artists winning awards. It was an especially fruitful year for Gotye, who took home four ARIA Awards, including the coveted "Album of the Year," as well as an "Artisan Award" for "Best Cover Art." The Jezebels also took home an honor, "Best Independent Release" for their latest record Prisoner. Congratulations, Gotye and The Jezebels!

This year, Reyka Vodka gave one American band the chance of a lifetime to perform live at Iceland Airwaves and join their team for an excursion to the Golden Circle, the Blue Lagoon and various local bars for late night dance parties.

The Windish Agency team is honored and humbled to once again receive a 2012 Pollstar Concert Industry Award nomination for Independent Booking Agency of the Year.
Tom Windish at the Billboard Touring Conference
The Billboard Touring Conference will be held November 7-8 at New York City's Roosevelt Hotel. Now in its ninth year, the conference has become a staple in the concert industry's development, hosting keynote speaker sessions, showcases and closing with the acclaimed Billboard Touring Awards.

This year at Fun Fun Fun Fest

Moog is the word in Asheville, North Carolina this week. October 26-27, The Windish Agency artists, below, will be gracing the stages of Moogfest in this cozy mountain town.

The Windish Agency wrapped up CMJ week with a fourth and final showcase at Gramercy Theatre Saturday night. Com Truise, Poolside and Bonde Do Role closed out the night to a packed venue.

Passion Pit make SNL debut
This weekend, Passion Pit will make their first ever appearance on everyone's favorite live show, Saturday Night Live. Having just released their sophomore album Gossamer earlier this year, the five-piece will continue to tour the U.S. through mid-December.

Fall is the underdog when it comes to festival buzz. It seems as though summer is the time of back-to-back festivals and tough decisions on which to attend and which artists to fight the crowds to see. We often forget that October alone holds Austin City Limits, CMJ Music Marathon, Moogfest, Treasure Island, Fun Fun Fun Fest - some of the absolute best festivals of the year. Kicking off Friday and running through Sunday, the down-home town of Austin hosts its 11th year of Austin City Limits.

Since 2004, the St. Jerome’s Laneway Festival has strived to showcase memorable performances by innovative musicians, and The Windish Agency looks forward to this event every year. We've even had our very own stage (Thanks, Laneway!).

The xx to appear on Conan
Three years since their last album, The xx have returned with their highly anticipated new single, "Angels." Congratulations, Gotye!
The Windish Agency would like to take a moment to congratulate Gotye on his chart-topping accomplishments as of late. Since his release of “Somebody That I Used To Know” back in July 2011, Gotye has been blazing charts worldwide. The song topped the Australian charts for an astounding eight weeks straight, the U.K. Singles Chart for five weeks, and was number one in 18 other countries as well. In the U.S., the song has been a true crossover hit, reaching the top spot on the Alternative Songs and Rock Songs charts, in addition to the Billboard Hot 100. Gotye’s hit song is the first by an Australian solo male to hit number one in the US since Rick Springfield released “Jesse’s Girl" 31 years ago.

Windish Artists Nominated for Three APRA Music Awards
Nominees for the 30th annual APRA (Australasian Performing Right Association) Music Awards were announced today, and Windish artists received acknowledgement in three major categories. Gotye's "Somebody That I Used to Know" has been inescapable since last fall, so it's no surprise it received a nod for the coveted APRA Song of the Year, as well as the Most Played Australian Work award. Previous APRA nominee Art Vs Science has also walked away with another nomination this year for the track "Finally See Our Way" as Dance Work of the Year. The APRA Music Awards will be held at the Sydney Convention & Exhibition Centre on Monday, May 28th. For a full list of nominations, visit the official APRA Music Awards site.

Just last month, Swedish artists Lykke Li, Peter Bjorn and John, and Miike Snow announced that they had joined forces to create a new powerhouse label, Ingrid. Born to bolster a space for unadulterated creativity, the collective did not waste time with their first production.

These past few weeks have been an especially busy and ridiculously fun time for us – many of our artists played not one, but two, Coachella festivals to huge audiences, eliciting praise from some of our favorite publications, and of course, their fans. From January to the close of the year there are so many exciting shows and events to look forward to, and Coachella marks the beginning of one of our favorite phases, that of the summer festival season. We had some nice surprises as we kicked off this season, as it seems not only our hard work but our absolute love for our artists and live music in general got a little notice. The Windish Agency welcomes Creative Marketing Director Micha Thomas
The Windish Agency is thrilled to announce Micha Thomas has joined the company as Creative Marketing Director. Micha will continue her role as publicist for the company, and will also oversee all marketing efforts, partnerships and events. Micha comes to the company with a vast background in PR, marketing and branding, having worked with large and global companies as well as small and independent organizations and nonprofits, including Yahoo! Entertainment, Sony Pictures, PopTech, and GolinHarris, to name a few.
Coachella: Weekend One
Kicked off with rain and unseasonably low temperatures, weekend one of Coachella was still a success. It was packed with talented artists from all over the world, some even in hologram form. The Windish Agency artists like Justice, Gotye, M83, tUnE-yArDs and many more performed to sold-out crowds. But even those not attending either weekend can enjoy the music, as the festival offers not only archived videos of the performances from weekend one but a live stream you can catch during weekend two.
Gotye to perform live on SNL
Over the last several months, Gotye has taken over the airwaves with the hit single "Somebody That I Used To Know." Having already made his U.S. television debut on Jimmy Kimmel earlier this year, the Australian artist is set to hit the Saturday Night Live stage on April 14. Catch the performance live this Saturday at 11:30 EST/10:30 CST. We'll also be sure to share some of the highlights.

SxSW Music Day Four
In a SxSW 2012 finale, The Windish Agency hosted our fourth consecutive ND showcase in Austin. Saturday's lineup included American Royalty, Ki:Theory, Penguin Prison, Drop the Lime, Matthew Dear and Flosstradamus. After an amazing run of shows, the ND crowd celebrated the successful week on stage with Flosstradamus in an end-of-night dance party!

The Friday of SxSW is a hectic time for every attendee, but that didn't stop festival-goers from packing the venues at The Windish Agency's events!
SxSW Music Day Two
The Windish Agency's second day at SxSW this year consisted of our six-hour, talent-packed ND showcase. Hip hop collective Spank Rock started Thursday night with a bang and an energetic crowd, followed by NYC-based Guards. Taking the stage next was soul artist Lee Fields & the Expressions who graced the soundscape with crowd favorites as well as tracks off the new album "Faithful Man." Nick Waterhouse kept it vintage with his band, while Hanni El Khatib transitioned from old school to rock as a two-man band. Chicago DJ-duo The Hood Internet closed out the night with special guest Zambri.
SxSW Music Day One
Three events and many Windish artist plays in, it was a busy day for The Windish Agency at SxSW, day one.
The Windish Agency at Buku Music + Art Project
The Windish Agency is happy to have six artists on the bill for the first ever Buku Music + Art Project taking place on March 17-18 in New Orleans. Set at Mardi Gras World, nestled in between the New Orleans Public Belt Railroad and the post-industrial east bank of the Mississippi River, the BUKU Project aims to exemplify the fusion of EDM, hip-hop, and indie rock that has been so prevalent in the current music culture. Paying homage to the NOLA setting, BUKU will also feature local food vendors, indigenous art exhibits, a primarily NOLA-sourced production staff, and 15 regional support acts playing stage changeover sets.

Laneway Festival 2012
