Peter Hook is the legendary co-founder of the post-punk band Joy Division. Following the success of 1979 album “Unknown Pleasures” and the untimely death of lead singer Ian Curtis, the band took new direction and reformed as the more electronic dance oriented New Order. New Order went on to be the flagship band of Factory Records, and recorded “Blue Monday”, the best-selling 12-inch single of all time.
Godspeed You! Black Emperor is a seminal band from Canada that formed in 1994. After the release of their debut album in 1997, GY!BE toured regularly from 1998 to 2002 with some times as many as 14 musicians. The band also featured 16 mm film projections, seeing it as an important part of putting their live music and performance into context. The group announced an official hiatus in 2003.
This past weekend, Austin, TX hosted its annual FUN FUN FUN Fest in Waterloo Park. F3F is known for its eclectic offerings of music - from hip-hop to hardcore. This year, The Windish Agency had several artists deliver memorable sets at the 3 day Music Festival. Delorean got "the packed crowd into a full-on dance party", and "took advantage of their turn at the stage to produce an indelible impression on attendees with a unique, rewarding performance". Best Coast, one of the most anticipated acts of the weekend, brought beach-inspired songs with a laid-back take on surf rock and pop. Deakin's signature psychedelic style was also a highlight of Sunday, featuring "spacey, ambient guitar over echoing reverberating distorted drum-pad beats".
Congratulations to Megan Washington, the 24 year old singer that is electro-pop band Washington, for being honored with two Australian ARIA 2010 awards this past Sunday. Since 1987, the ARIA Awards have recognized excellence and innovation across all genres of Australian music, for both emerging and seasoned artists alike. Washington took home the award for Best Female Artist of 2010 as well as Breakthrough Artist of the Year for her album, I Believe You Liar. This debut album is full of clever and raw lyrics, while at the same time remaining unbelievably catchy and danceable.

Ra Ra Riot's symphonic pop was one of the greatest new music discoveries.
Little Dragon rocked out Friday and also shared the stage with The Gorillaz to close out the festival!
Crowds flooded way beyond the Mojave tent to see Yeasayer. Popmatters raved, "Yeasayer's arabesque melodies and euphoric tribal techno cemented it as one of the most capable passport-pop bands today."
Catch a clip of Flying Lotus's hypnotizing one man act here.
Fever Ray was up to their usual mysterious on-stage antics, named by Under The Radar as "the most unique and bizarre set of the day."
The xx outdrew the main stage and played to a massive crowd (35,000), proving that their intimate ethereal rock can hold its own in an outdoor setting. See footage from their set on Stereogum.
Check out a photo of mash-up master Z-trip and sample his set list here.
Paparazzi kicked off Sunday afternoon with a solid set, and King Khan & The Shrines brought dancers, a horn section and DJ Lance Rock on stage with them.

Dirty Projectors blew away the crowd with their dazzling vocals and were dubbed by the L.A. Times as "enchanting, disturbing and impossible to forget."
Hot Chip rocked out to 40,000 people, and Spinner declared their set "Coachella's Biggest Dance Party."
Major Lazer killed it on stage with their insane stage show that included a giant ladder and Chinese lion parade floats!
Matt & Kim's sweaty and packed set induced a fan to shed his clothes and streak across stage.
The Windish Agency is very sad to hear of the passing of legendary drummer Steve Reid. Reid has been a professional musician since he was 16, sharing the recording studio and stage with Miles Davis, Fela Kuti, James Brown and Sun Ra. Most recently, he worked with Windish artist Kieran Hebden (aka Four Tet) creating the monumentally progressive albums The Exchange Session Vol. 1, The Exchange Session Vol. 2, Tongues and NYC.
Kieran Hebden (via Domino Records) states: "Steve was one of my great friends and the most wonderful musician I have ever encountered. The music and adventures we shared have been some of the most happy and meaningful experiences I\xE2\x80\x99ve ever had. A true inspiration. He lived a great life and gave us incredible music. I\xE2\x80\x99ll miss him forever."
